Jules Kounde’s Transfer to Sevilla
In July 2019, Sevilla signed Jules Kounde from Bordeaux for a hefty amount of $25 million. That year, he showed an incredible performance in the UEFA Europa League and helped his team win the tournament. After the competition, he was included in the tournament’s team of the season.
In the following season, Sevilla started their first match against Bayern Munich in the Super Cup final. Sevilla took a lead in the match with a goal in a penalty in the 13th minute of the match, however, Bayern returned an equalizer with Leon Goretzka’s goal in the 34th minute. The mandatory 90 minutes ended in a 1-1 draw and Bayern won the trophy with Javi Martinez’s header in the extra time.
For Sevilla, Jules Kounde made 95 appearances and scored 5 goals for the club.
His Transfer To Barcelona
For the 2022/23 season, Barcelona and Chelsea wanted to sign Kounde. However, In the end, he wanted to go to Barcelona and they signed him for $50 million and additional bonuses of $10 million. Kounde wasn’t able to play the first couple of matches of La Liga as his salary was over the competition’s salary cap limit.
Kounde finally made his debut for Barcelona on 28th August 2022 against Real Valladolid at Camp Nou. Kounde’s Barcelona debut was joyful as the team registered a 4-0 victory.

On 30th October 2022, in a match against Valencia, the French footballer sustain an injury and was taken off the field after just 15 minutes of play. After his injury, Barcelona told the media that he had a thigh strain due to muscle overload and wasn’t much serious.
Jules Olivier Koundé’s International Career
Before signing with Barcelona, Kounde was called-up for the French national team for the UEFA Euro 2020 on 18th May 2021. After being selected, he played his first match for France on 2nd June 2021 against Wales.
They showed a great performance and scored 3 goals against their opponent. The first goal was scored by Kylian Mabbape and the later two goals were by Antoine Griezmann and Ousmane Dembélé.
After that, Jules played for France for the second time in the 2021 UEFA Nations League Final on 10th October against Spain. The first goal was scored by Mikel Oyarzabal in the 64th minute of the competition.
Two minutes later, Karim Benzema scored a magnificent goal and tied the score. The game was intense but in the 80th minute of the tournament, Kylian Mbappé kicked the goal and led the team to victory.
In 2022, Kounde was included in France’s World Cup squad 2022 World Cup.
