Cameroon and Serbia who are facing each other in round two of the FIFA World Cup 2022 are both desperate to win this match as they are on the verge of an early exit. Both teams faced defeats in their opening games of the ongoing tournament.

Cameroon lost theirs against Switzerland when the AS Monaco striker, Breel Embolo netted home a goal in the 48th minute which was enough for the Nats to take the three points away from the Indomitable Lions.

On the other hand, Serbia while they managed to frustrate Brazil for a notable period, eventually succumbed to Selecao’s brace both coming from the Tottenham forward, Richarlison. That said, whoever losses between Cameroon and Serbia, that team is next to guaranteed to be eliminated from the Qatar event.

Cameroon Vs Serbia Expected Lineups

The major doubt for Cameroon is if Swansea midfielder Olivier Ntcham is available for the clash against Serbia due to his injury issues. The Lions Indomitables’ coach Rigobert Song is also expected to bring Vincent Aboubakar back into the starting eleven. Bayern’s striker, Eric Maxim Choupo Moting, Brentford’s Bryan Mbeumo, and Lyon’s Karl Toko Ekambi, safe to say, are imminent in the attack.

In the mid and back, the presence of Andre Frank Zambo Anguissa and Martin Hongla should be a default presence.

In the case of Serbia, Juventus in-form players Filop Kostic and Dusan Vlahovic might still not be in the starting eleven though the latter did see some action against Brazil coming off the bench. Dusan Tadic and Aleksandar Mitrovic will remain integral while the match could also see Fiorentina forward, Luka Jovic’s introduction in some form. Other familiar faces will be Vanja Milinkovic Savic, Marko Dmitrovic, Sergej Milinkovic Savic, and Predrag Rajkovic.

Cameroon Vs Serbia Preview And Predictions

Neither Cameroon nor Serbia was that bad in their respective opening matches of this world cup. The African sides did have several good chances against Switzerland; they had one big chance missed against the European side’s two and five shots inside the box vs Switzerland’s seven.

On the other hand, Serbia, too, had two of those moments where they seemed like they were going to have an upper hand against the five-time world champion, Brazil. However, both Serbia and Cameroon were unable to be perfect in the final third or the touch. Serbia was effective in keeping the door shut against Brazil’s illustrious forwards until Richarlison’s goal in the 62nd minute.

They however also have similar firepower in the front and against Cameroon, which doesn’t have a quality attacking front like Brazil, Serbia may be keeping just enough men in their back and instead exert more force in their attack. In addition, Cameroon hasn’t been in a good form as of late, and Serbia until the loss against Brazil has had a pretty impressive run. They qualified for the world cup topping their UEFA group and had two defeats in ten matches preceding the event in Qatar.

But then again, all Cameroon needs is just one or two slip-ups or loosening moments from Serbia and they definitely will fight it hard from the beginning be it for a leading goal or an equalizer. While they weren’t malignant enough against Switzerland, they still were capable of conjuring up one or two special moments. We are especially counting on this in light of the African team’s unpredictability in this sort of competition.

We are going with at least two goals in the whole match though whether it’s coming from each of the sides or just one remains to be seen.

Yet, for the sake of prediction, it’s a one-all draw we are putting our money on.
