Stunning way Messi’s Sons reacted after shock defeat against Saudi Arabia

One of the biggest upsets in recent history came when Saudi Arabia defeated Argentina in the opening match of their group, 2-1. The match that was held at Lusail Stadium on Tuesday, November 22, 2022, started as expected for the South American team as they scored the opener with Leo Messi’s penalty. In the same half, they scored three times, all of which, were denied due to an offside call. The way Argentina was playing the first half clearly depicted their confidence.

However, the second half came out differently for both teams. Saudi Arabia came back with one goal disadvantage eventually winning the game with two goals. Right after the second half started, Saleh Alshehri scored the opener for the middle eastern country as they drew the game. Then after a matter of minutes, in the 53rd minute, Salem Aldawsari scored their second and winning goal against the third-ranked team.

Even though Argentina tried its best to overcome the deficit, it was all in vain and they ended up losing the match, making it one of the biggest upsets in the history of world football. After the match ended, the whole world was in shock, considering Argentina FC was considered to be one of the favorites to win the World Cup 2022.

Right after losing the match, everyone seems to have their own set of opinions and just recently Messi revealed what his son’s reaction was after they succumbed to Saudi Arabia.

In an interview with DEPORTV, Messi revealed how two of his older sons reacted after their loss, and upon finding out how they reacted, it almost brings tears to our eyes.

He said, “After the first game, Mateo left the pitch crying and Thiago was doing the math explaining to him that if we win remaining two games, then we will qualify.”

Well, dad Lionel really didn’t let his sons become sad as he lead his team to an emphatic 2-0 win against Mexico in which Leo scored the first goal. The La Albiceleste will now face up against Poland in the final group stage and in order to go through the round of 16, they need to win this match.
